Rear wash and wipe not working

Hi,

Son in law has a problem with his 2009 A3. Both the rear wash and wipe have stopped working.
The wash pump doesn't operate, but windscreen wash works fine.

VCDS is showing a "CAN gateway" fault - 00470 - "Combination comfort Databus in Single Wire". Could this be related?

Is his boot definitely shut properly when trying it, rear wiper doesn't work with the boot open

I've realised the wiper/washer don't work if they think the door is open...

No idea on the fault, had a look and there's the same fault code here
