Hi Guys,

i have a 3.0 quattro A4 and have a tyre query

On my front i have 235/45/17 94y

on the back 235/45/17 97y

Im looking to replace the front two this week (i know its quattro but understand replacing two on the same axel is fine as opposed to all 4?)

But ill shortly be de replacing the rears also and i noticed on the back they are 97Y. is it ok to have all 4 as 94Y? Or do they need the higher load rating on the rear?

Cheers

personally I find sometimes the XL sidewalls are a bit hard - as far as I understand from reading.... the load rating is upto the speed the speed index is at so 850kg (no idea what load index number that would be without checking) upto y rated speed for example

I'll stick with 94 y on front just wondering if 97y is oem on the back?

It might list the tyre sizes and speed/load rating inside the fuel filler cap but don't quote me on that
