I am posting here on behalf of a family member who has a 2007 3.0 Q7 Sline.

his engine management light has been on now for a while he has had Audi and various other 'specialists' run diagnostics on it. Initially the battery kept loosing power bat replaced no joy, it turned out a sensor needed replacing that was done. A few weeks later the car was literally shaking whenever it was turned on very much like a misfire.

Audi advised that the Injectors needed replacing this was also done but has not solved the problem. it goes without saying that I advised Audi at the time surely it would be more cost effective to change the whole lump. They said that this was unnecessary. Payment has now been refunded and I am helping him look for a new Engine.

I have tried Sandburns and a one other place in Birmingham and I have had no luck. Anyone know where I can get an engine or whether it would be wise to refurb the existing block.

all suggestions would are very much appreciated.

What else has been done thus far to condemn the whole engine?

Tbh. I'm not entirely sure I know various sensors have been replaced injectors changed timing belts changed. Audi are struggling to pin it down. The problem is it's more and more money being spent in trying to ascertain the nature of the problem.

Hence why I thought it may be easier to change it.

The 3.0tdi is used in the A4,A5,A6,A8 of similar vintage so you can increase your search a little if that helps.

Thanks guys anyone know of how I can find out the engine code.
