Needle Sweep via Vcds

I have searched and got various answers, A3 2010 TFSI - DSG -S Tronic Quattro, some people say the needle sweep can be activated on A3 cars after 2008, others state only S3 and RS3 clocks can do needle sweep, I am very new to vcds it allows me to tick the needle sweep option and save the code (successful) but needle sweep does not seem to work, can vcds tease you showing you various options to activate but will not actually work on the car??

And yes VCDS will allow you to activate things that wont work.

Whilst this maybe true of things that aren't enabled, vcds will not if the systems dont support the feature, needle sweep isn't available on all chassis & all clusters, 8P doesn't allow this except on S3/RS3 clusters.

Well at least I got the Fog Lights on cornering to work, guess its trial and error to see what works and what doesn't
