Removing and programming a key with vcds ?

My dads recently brought a 2008 tt. When buying the car he only got given one key. Due to security I wanna remove/block all keys registered apart from the one he's got ... Can anyone help/guide me on how to to that ? Cheers

The original keys would be identical. Remove one, you'll remove both.

I'd just search on wiki.ross-tech.com, it has many procedures with key programming among them.

I think you can remove the remote side of the key using vcds but ultimately not the immobiliser side, so the key can still be used.

From what I understood after reading the immobiliser bit, you can still do it if you have a code from the dealer. Since they stopped giving these out, immobiliser work is now dealer-only - http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/manual/pinskc.html
