Calipers

Hi everyone am new to this fourm and a new owner of a a3 8p 1.6 tdi se on a 09 plate ! Getting new wheels and want to change colour of calipers am after red but can i paint ? Or just buy new ?

paint, new calipers aren't cheap, especially if they don't actually need replacing

I painted mine , they look great , went for red too .
As usual preparation is the key .
I got a tin of caliper paint from Halfrauds and gently built up the layers of paint until the colour was nice and even .
Took me a while with a little brush but I have used this method on 5 or 6 cars to good effect .

Mike X - what did you do in terms of prep? …mine are pretty rusty and I want to paint them black.

Wire brush, sand paper, brake cleaner!!!

just paint them its easy enough to do mine are blue at the moment, but im going for yellow

I'm thinking black to go with the overall look of the car...
(I know it's not an A3, I was just looking for a calipers thread!)
