Tailgate strut........

My boot has started to 'creak' when opening as if one of the struts... drivers side.....
is drying out......

what is the best product to put on them to stop this

could spray with trusty WD40 or a light oil

seeking advice ....... just incase put the wrong stuff on and damage it

Mine does this, if you ease it up slowly or let it come up of its own accord its fine...

I would imagine a little light grease would help it?

Update - I sprayed some WD-40 on mine last night and its cured.
