Is this worth doing? Will the sound penetrate into the cabin, or would I just be filling the boot with bass?

I'm thinking about putting a small sub (8" 200w) into the boot of my A4

The Bose sub hangs under the parcel shelf. Plenty of after-market installs are in the boot and there's not much in the way of sound deadening in the rear seat backs, so should be good.

I want to upgrade the Bose sub to a small JL Audio one (built into a housing that'll be slotted in the gap behind the arch). Will also maybe look into upgrading the front components to Focal units, but then I'm told the head unit driving it all becomes the weak link and I don't want to go non-OEM up front.

im running a 10" JBL along with the built bose sub and can certainly notice a different, the sub is angled towards the back seat, not that that matters much

my only problem is that my tool box keeps ripping out my earth cable :-/

ideally you only need one sub , more than one will create phasing problems and muddy the music
