Depending where you buy, it will be £250 upwards.
It is a lot of money, but you'll get that back very quickly once you need to diagnose faults.
VCDS is much more than just a fault code reader - you can enable features, check values log them - the list goes on.
The sooner into your VAG car ownership you buy it, the better as if you own one and work on it you will buy it eventually!
The lead will also be compatible with the whole VAG range - so you can bail out your mates too!
