S6 - RS6 question Help please :)

hi all,

I was looking at getting an s6 4.2 v8 motor,

But my question is, What is the differance between the S6 and the RS6 the car is a W plate so 99 i think

The guy i was looking at buying it off says that the engine is the same is this correct? i mean they are both 4.2 v8 motors
The car i was looking at is Audi S6 Avant 4.2 quattro Tiptronic V8

how long between years? The C5 RS 6 has nearly 450bhp from its 4.2L
The S6 on your plate has about 340bhp on same engine size.

so RS 6 has more power.

The RS6 also has the DRC suspension setup, a lot owners remove this and put an aftermarket setup as you are looking at a 4 figure sum for it to be repaired. Also an RS6 is going to cost a dam sight more!
