Got in the car this morning,drove about 200 yards,the 'esp fault' light shows on the dash and stays on........parked car up,returned to the car some 9 hours later,,,,,,,no fault present??? did a vcds scan thort id let you guys av a look......im just thinking even though my car drives spot on (straight line) could wheel alignment cause this? also may not be linked...revers lights are not working.

ok.......here go's ive had the car 7 months and this is the first time its happened,it cleared straightaway,not come back either,as i said in my first post,when i went to the car after 9 hours,started it up...no esp,got home and did a full scan.

Ive been getting a slight vibration and a humming/growling noise (not very load,only from 20 mph upwards,more noticeable at 24mph,after 30 its very faint,almost not there,all 4 tyres are 7 month old,so still like new.

car drives in a straight line if i let go of the wheel,brakes and stops straight,no pulling or anything,but ive heard that doesnt meant tracking/alignment is correct,im trying to link this noise now to the alignment and now to the esp fault....although its happened only once (esp that is) maybe as the tyres are wearing its related?..il get a check done this week if i get a chance....after that its fix non working reverse lights.

I would still reset it and see if it stays clear, but wheel alignment could play a part in it.

Also worth checking the connector on the sensor itself.
