2.0TDI Cold start exhaust grunt

I had a straight exhaust made last week from the turboback. Sounds decent considering what I paid and especially when you give itsome in 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] gear. Very noticeable power increase.Turbo spool is abit loud, but a bit music gets rid of that.

I’ve noticed though, when I start it up in the morning orwhen the engine is cold the exhaust note is very deep and has seriously gruntwhen you rev it. Almost petrol like, But only last for about 15 secs and then returns to normal.
What makes it do that? Is there any way I can keep it likethat?
I was thinking of adding a Cortek muffler like in this video,to my set up, but can’t found it in UK. Is there anything close to it?

After some research it seems like it’s a normal thing. Some theories are:

Colder exhaust gas is denser = Louder

Car runs richer when it's cold out, or at least until the engine warms up, richer = louder.

A stainless exhaust is much louder cold than it is hot

Cat-preheating, which is achieved with an increased idle speed and ignition timing = louder I guess.

The noise completely freaked me out the first time I heard it on a cold day. Shame though it sounds good. I will try and find a triangle shape muffler/silencer and update if it sound similar.
