Seriously - I got 2 of the little Audi Wreckers, one is 10 and one is 8... and before you all start, I am not actually that old (I hope) it's just that we started young.....

Ask either of em what car they would have though, and they will both say Audis - one wants a TT and the other an RS6... lol

Ah well I found out what caused them in the end, and soon put a stop to that..! (I'm sure I was asleep at the time anyway!)

No.1 son is now saving for his driving lessons/1st car etc.. he asked the other week what the odds were of being put in the insurance for the A4..

Finally settled on our solution yesterday.
    Jane Carrera C pushchair
    Jane Rebel car seat
    Jane Autocot
All fit together into a "travel system".

The car seat is one of the lightest on the market and fits great on the S4's rear Recaros. The pushchair is also one of the lighter ones and folds down quite small. I can get it in easily and it fits cross ways at the back of the boot. i.e. between the narrowest part and hence leaves loads of space.

Check out www.jane.es for the details.

p.s. If you got in to a shop don't forget Jane is actually pronounced "harnay" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Well after reading this thread, I believe good luck to all of you is in order - I hope everything goes extremely well for the labour, birth and future and any other periods I've missed !!
As a dad of 2 (and I guess some of you are dad's already), I can categorically state that no matter what hastles, worries, fun (the list is endless) you get, there is no way I would change my life - my 2 are the best thing that has happened to me - every day is different and you never know what's coming next (yes our lass also fits into this category /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif !!)

Ok, so mine are 9 and 8, but watching them grow has been fantastic - all I would say re. this is... dont blink - you'll miss it - Life really is all about kids (and Audis !!!!) oh and I suppose our lass ought to get a mention....hee hee

And my parting words which I guess have been stated above - Don't worry about "doing it wrong" - everyone falls into their own little routine and YOU WILL do it right - there is a lot of help out there and if you need it - use it. Just enjoy every day mate....

I have given birth to 2 children and i can honetsly say that during labour what ever you say and what ever you do will be wrong, if something goes wrong it is your fault. when she is in absolute agony it is your fault, when her waters break all over your new car seat it is your fault, and i would advise that you refresh your memory of what the girl in the film exorcist was like as that will be your wife/girlfriend by the last stage of labour.

But do take heart as the moment the child is placed in your arms all is forgiven and your feelings and emotions will never be more closely intertwined than at that point in time and yes you will cry.

Good luck for the future and enjoy every minute they grow up way to fast

My wife is due on July 18th, time seems to be advancing quite quickly. However the time between now and ordering the new Audi is not! How does that work?

Great, well done mate...tell your friends and lets see if we can't make this morally questionable government of ours sit up and take notice, that is, when they are not rifling through the wallets of motorists like you and I. I mean if there was a petition to ban speed cameras, we'd all sign it now would'nt we ? But this is our kids health here ! Sign it and make your feelings known.

been trying cars seats today......... what an ordeal...... women ?
    hormonal women ???????????????????????????????????????????????????

anyway, we got one eventually..... but them seat belts in the back of my B5 A4 are bad........ maybe its just me ???? they cant be broke?? not both of them??????

problem is.... you need good control over the full length of the belt to install these car seats...
when i pull the belt out, say a normal amount for a person sat there.... the belt will pull out and retract and then pullout again fine,,,, but when i pull it out a fair bit to get the car seat in, it wont allow the belt to pull out, retract and then pull out a little more in one motion. it just locks up after retracting and has to retract fully before it will pull out again ???? also it makes a ratchet like noise when its retracting after locking up.
    any comments ???
    complicated i know..... but hey.

ever notice how nothings ever perfect....

I think the belts are supposed to do that so that when you do put a car seat in the back it will be held firmly in place by the rachet, mine does the same. Have you bought the push chair yet, you'll have fun, just make sure whatever you get fits in the boot.

Yep meant to do that. Apparently the lesson when removing a seat is don't let the belt go in when you release the buckle otherise it will retract and you'll be stuck with it still around the seat.

A clothes peg or a seat tension remover is very useful just for this.

The A3 Sportback and travel system, 3 in 1, pram, pushchair whatever you want to call it. Which ones do people have that will fit good in the back of the sportback (not Quattro)?

The other half and I really like the beb confort loola but we didn't make it to the shop to try it when we had the car on loan. The dimensions on paper seem good but as always most thinks sound better on paper! One think for sure is that it is VERY light (under 10Kg) and easy to put up/down.

Check out the weight of the baby seat. The Jane Rebel one is 2.4kg. Most are about 3.5kg. This is important for us as my Mrs is quite small.

The Jane Carrera C is 8.5kg.

Together thats a 2.5kg potential difference. For us this is a key issue.
