Having recently bought a cable from NHN, I have been trying to use it at every opportunity, so when I auto scanned my friends S4 B6 Cab, and found that it wasn't picking up the RNSE unit, I started googling possible issues, and the more I read articles on it the more it seemed that the RNSE was possibly retro fitted, especially as the car has impeccable history with all the handbooks etc. except one for the RNSE unit and there was a Audi Concert book in with the history. We had it confirmed by Audi, and this was the case.
So I pulled the unit and had a look at the wiring, I found the wiring adapter plug B was not plugged in, and hanging free, in its place is an OEM Audi IPOD interface leading to an IPOD adapter in the glove box.
Following the wiring adapter plug B back to the original Concert stereo plug there were two cables that were not connected any longer, though they were connected to the wiring adapter plug B, but as this was not being used they were not connected to the RNSE.
Looking at the plug B that was in the unit from the IPOD Interface pins 3 and 5 were empty, and these happened to correspond to the same pins that the unconnected cables in the wiring adapter Plug B were connected too.
Plug B pin 3 is V-Signal
Plug B pin 5 is K-Line
So I removed these two cables from the unused wiring adapter plug B and fitted them to the IPOD Interface Plug B, and result I got VCDS communication.
So after Soft coding it with what I thought it should be I did another scan the unit had some fault codes logged, listed below,

Even with all these faults the unit still appears to work perfectly, it is running SW 650, and the only other thing I did was to code
17 - Instruments so the Navigation directions would appear in DIS.
Any one any ideas what are causing these issues any thoughts?
Also what should the soft coding be in the RNSE in a A4 B6 S4 Cab, no MFSW, no telephone prep, no TV Tuner, it does have an Audi IPOD Interface unit (see above), the soft coding in the scans above were what I thought they should be.
