2.8FSI: is it a cambelt or cam chain?

And if it's a belt, what are the service intervals?

Everything I can see indicates that Audi released a new 2.8FSI in the A6 in 2006 which was a timing chain, but the older models continued to use the old engines with a timing belt? Including the A8 that I'm checking on for a friend.
