Hi all,

Can anyone give me advice when bleeding the brakes of a 1997 A3 1.8T? I have air in my system somewhere, causing the peddle to act spongy. All calipers are air free leading me to think it has to be the bleed screws on the master cylinder (which I havent bled yet)..... However both of these have sheared off. Are there anymore bleed screws I need to try elsewhere before I get the stud extractors on the master cylinder? What about bleeding the ABS?

Does anyone know what size thread the master cylinder bleed screws are?

Many thanks for the help in advance.

Please use the search... I searched on 'brake bleed' and got the following...

Been discussed a few times :)

Don't know the thread size of the MC nipples sorry... I know they are small buggers and easily snapped off... good luck, an easy out should do it if there is anything left to screw into...

Thanks for the reply chap. Your right I should have probably tried the search function first.

I'm gonna have to drill out and extract the sheared nipples on both the calipers and master cylinder to start a fresh. Does anyone know where I can buy bleed nipples by the bag full? I have searched ebay and there are plenty of Wezmoto universal nipples about. Can anyone recommend these or anywhere else I can look?

Thanks again,
Jboy
