Hi guys

I have a 2005 B6 S4 Avant with a bit of an odd issue...

The main beam nearside headlight was doing odd things. It would flicker on and off, and then switch off for 5-10 seconds before coming back on as normal. No pattern - completely random.

So, I've replaced the bulb with a brand new one (Phillips or Osram, forget which), and now with 0 and 15 minutes of driving the warning light will come on the dashboard for that bulb.

The bulb is now rock solid (no flickering etc) - but the damned warning light is now causing the issue.

Any ideas at all as to what this could be???

Many thanks!

Hi guys

Sorry I screwed up. It's a B7 not B6. I'm going to re-post this in the B7 section.

Sorry guys!!!

Hi there

I don't think they are self-levelling, but it has Daytime Running Lights.

Hi guys

Ok, have scanned with VAG COM and it's showing this fault:

Address 09: Cent. Elect. Labels: 8E0-907-279-8EC.lbl
Part No: 8E0 907 279 L
Component: int. Lastmodul ECE 0304
Coding: 11021
Shop #: WSC 65536
VCID: 3B714F18297E811

1 Fault Found:
02745 - Bulb for Daytime Running Light; Left
30-00 - Open or Short to Plus

Any ideas?????

Many thanks!

Shall I move this to the B7 forum?

That reads like your DRL bulb has gone.

it might be working but still have a high resistance somewhere? enough to trip the warning light.

Hi there

Yes, can be moved to B7 forum no problem...

I checked the daytime running light bulb and both and working fine.

How do I check for resistance??

Take it you've actually cleared the fault 1st & cycled ignition & scanned again when car running & drl's/headlights on?

If so then check the contacts for any corrosion 1st, try swapping bulbs around L to R etc.
