The engine management light came on yesterday, so I got my mate to scan for codes using his vag com and it's showing fault code :
17524 Oxygen (lambda) sensor heating B1 S1: open circuit P1116 -35 - 00 --
Anyone know if that means i need a new sensor or some other fix?
Many thanks in advance

Has it caused any running problems?

It means theres a fault with the first lambda sensor in the downpipe. Check all the wiring from the sensor to the ecu, if all is ok then you need a new sensor.

Thanks for that! No it runs absolutely fine, I'll check the wiring tomorrow and price up a new sensor :(

Do not go to audi, they wanted nearly £160, went to my local motor factors and for the same bosch part i got it for £78.

Sounds like its the one in the engine bay mate, go to somewhere like euro car parts or TPS they will do it alot cheaper, i got a bosch one for about 70 from ECP.
