Was attempting to put a boost gauge on my car over the weekend, as I'll soon be chipping it and playing around with a bleed valve.

What was originally around an $1000 plan for modifications has turned into a $3000 repair bill.

My turbo's finally sh*tted itself, getting absolutely no boost through any of the lines. Oh well, guess it's about time to upgrade the turbo after all.

The only thing that's got me confused is the performance of the car. I haven't noticed it drop, and I now believe the turbo's been bad for a while, anyone else had a similar issue?

What car have you got?

Are you 100% sure it's the turbo?

The reason I ask is that MAF (air flow sensor) failure is very common, and typical symptoms include loss of boost. Get that checked out before you start shelling out on new turbos.

Drew.

Check the MAF sensor, the connection to the MAF sensor, the N75 valve and connections, all vacuum lines are intact .etc. If the turbo went, you'd know about it.. They dont just stop with no symptoms.
