Cam Belt - A3 1.8t

Hi All,

Been quiet since my first post...taken longer to sell my car than I thought.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did have a check, I swear.

Looking to pick up an A3 1.8T on Sunday and the cambelt has done 40K and 6 years in May so i assume it needs to be changed?!

The main question I had was... Is there anywhere to source the parts? I want to get them before I get the car so I can defo get it done on the Monday.

6 years, I'd say it should be changed. Parts available from GSF, Eurocarparts (they have 30% off at the moment, search for a voucher online), and it's been suggested Audi do the kits cheaply enough. It's a good idea to do the waterpump at the same time.

Yeah, thought it was (over) due. Manage to get a quote for parts and labour for 330 (pump and belt) so not bad. Great mech. In Hungerford.
