i get my car serviced today and have just been out in it and i pressed the "spanner" button which shows when the next service is due but it just had little lines (like these ----) where as before it needed servicing it has a count down from from at least 150 days and also the miles were displayed.

is something not right or does the car work it out its self and the dispaly starts in a few days???

hope you can understand what i mean

it takes a few days i believe but i cant remember exactly, im sure someone more knowledgable will be along to put us straight

Hope the service all went well , your service display all sounds normal, Good sign they have set it correctly.

thanks guys, its was the 1st service since i bought it and was my 1st time using the specialists i went too and just wanted to see if it was normal for the dispaly to be blank.

i will check again i a few days

service went well thanks, had a full service done and rear pads replaced, was advised rear tyres are coming to the end of their life which i knew about anyway. was charged £248 for everything, which i dont think is too bad. guy said i had a car that had been well looked after.

think it stays blank for the first 500 miles mate then starts to count down as normal

thanks for your info peeps,

now my service indicator has reset and has come up with next service in 8600 miles or 332 days, i have only done 460 miles and its 2 weeks since it was serviced, i thought it should have been just under 10000 miles???

Hi,Is your car on fixed service intervals, 10 k 1 year?, I would give the guys a ring where you had it serviced so see what they say about it. If you have vcds you can see how it has been set up and adjust accordingly.
