HELP, wiring LED Lighting

Bought some drls fitted them ok

have terminated the earth, and positive lead,

and the third cable on instructions is ment to connect with a schotchlock to the positive of the side light bulb, i have tried this and tried it just with the positive and earth,
once ignition is on, one one side of the car will light up, even once you swap units round!

is this to do with the audi computer?
someone told me to connect the lead ment for the side light to the ignition cable,
but i duno were it is etc
