Morning all, i'm just cleaning my panel filter and removed the MAF and seem to recall people have removed the mesh from it, question is does it help improve flow or is it more trouble than its worth?
Also is just the black plastic mesh or the fine wire mesh you remove or both?

Cheers, Dave.

I think it may well increase airflow but it makes the airflow turbulent, negating any apparent gain in g/s figures. I recall Bill posting something about it, it may well be in welly's thread but I could be wrong

Both myself and Welly have de-meshed then gone back due to running issues etc... even though the ECU appears to report more airflow this doesn't appear to translate to more power as during the mapping of Welly's S3 swapping back to a meshed MAF gave less logged airflow but more power...

Personally I would leave it meshed as I had part throttle (normal driving) issues with hesitency etc... was sorted by replacing with a meshed MAF tube...

Anyone got a spare meshed maf housing? I frew my mesh away :(.
