I've seen an A3 that I really like with 53k on the clock and I was just wondering whether this should of had its cambelt changed yet or is a change due shortly?

Its a respectable garage selling it and I was thinking of getting them to sort it before sale or maybe knocking the difference off the price if it is due.

Depends on the engine and age of the car as well.

Intervals can range from 60-80k or around 4-6years, whichever comes first.

At that mileage if its on its original belt i'd really be wanting it changed.

at 53k the garage wont change it for free
what year is it

its 4 years or 80,000 miles (on the 2.0 tdi)... so it will be nearly 4 years old probably

Ok I'll bare this mind if I go for it. I think this is a good reason to drop the price.

How much does it cost to get this done?

£400 last time i read on the Audi site.

£250-£350 at a specialist
