Current list of things clogging up my house, to eventually go inside the garage include a heater , a beer fridge, a 32’’ flat screen TV, a PC, a 5.1 surround sound system, 150L compressor, a shed load of tools, and a 17 year old tatty audi A3
Since moving to Eastleigh, I was feeling saddened by the complete absence of decent jet washes, or half decent hand car washes for when I’m feeling lazy (all of the time then!)
To my delight, driving to a supplier last week, I spied a new one that had opened up, less than a mile from my house.
I called in there on Tuesday night before going to the West Meon Hut for Pub Club.
It was run by Indian lads, who all loved the car, and did a good job taking great care of all the delicate bits I had to highlight before they started!
£7 well spent, although by the time we got there, it was dark, so I needn’t have bothered!
oh well.
Had a good evening, chatting with Rob, Luke, Sean, and Nick (Horne). It was a bit cold, so we didn’t stay as long as usual.
Luke had mentioned earlier in the week that he’d bought me a birthday present. I didn’t expect anything from him at all, but he said that after 6 years of coming to stay with me in Cornwall every bank holiday weekend for the annual party we used to have, he felt he ought to get me something for a change.
If I’m honest, I was expecting something along the lines of a crunchie, or maybe a twirl, or something along those lines.
Needless to say I was VERY surprised when he gave me this:
What an absolute legend!!!! I’ve been borrowing Lukes for a few weeks whilst working on the garage, and he’s kept saying I need my own, but as we all know I’m a bit tight at times, so I’ve stuck with a good old hand screwdriver. Not any more! Thanks Luke
Car is going very well. It’s taking some getting used to having it running properly again, the increased urgency and torque everywhere it really quite noticeable.
On the way back from the pub with Rob, I gave it a bit of throttle at one point (one of many
), and was shocked by how hard it pulled, I went to pull 4th from 3rd, only to find I was already in 4th, it’s just that much more urgent than it’s been for a long time. Fuelling is good, EGT’s are solid, it’s how it should be for a rare change.
All of this means that there is currently no massive rush to get the ECU fitted. I’ll wait until after ADI, which I still want to attend, then after that there’s nothing stopping me taking my time and swapping it over without any pressure of meeting a deadline.
Right now, the main focus is on the garage. Providing I can get that done, and inside in the dry, then I’ve got the whole winter ahead of me to do car stuff whilst the weather is crap
