Help on how to re-code RNS-E - Idiot Guide needed!!!

I'm fitting an RNS-E unit into my Audi A3 2.0 TDI without BOSE replacing a Concert stereo. The RNS-E has come from an Audi S3 with Bose.
I'm assuming I will need to re-code the RNS-E to be configured to my car's settings. Can anyone tell me how I do this. Assume I have zero knowledge of where to start so the very basics need to be covered to help me.

Cheers for that info, really useful. Just contacted a local garage to ask if they will let me bring my car in for ten minutes and 'borrow' Vag-Com to re-code when I get the RNS-E installed...

Good luck with it, fitted mine a few weeks back and really like it.
Also there may be some members with VCDS near you that might be able to do it too for a few quid.
