After it being sat at my mates place I decided to get my finger out and have a look, AA man said cambelt so I started there. Good news is it wasn't cambelt, bad news is it turns out it's thrown a rod.

Going to swap the steering column with mine so I can use my minty steering wheel and will then wash it and bung it straight on E-Bay. Was going to drop a 2nd hand motor in but to be honest I just don't have the time on my hands at the moment with work and stuff going on in my personal life right now

What makes you think it's aftermarket? Looks like the one I had on my old '96.

mine has one too, original fitment glass tilt and slide.

i must admit i havent seen any with sunroof let alone glass, wonder it was either sunroof or a/c as standard? On the pre face

My '95 Quattro has climate and a glass 'roof.

Rare but sometimes you get both. I actually saw a facelift on eBay or Autotrader with A/C and sunroof. I do miss my sunroof. :'(
