After the rebuild of my 2.1 these something that hasn't been quit right with the engine

been listen to the engine with a stethoscope and knock hearing aids

So i thought i would take the sump off to have a look at it and found this

Image269.jpg

all other conrod bearing are fine but this one which is number 4, haven't had a look at the mains yet.

When rebuilt the engine parts were cleaned and inspected, the crank and a good second hand one and was cleaned by the engine machine shop that sold it to me and by myself also

for some reason number 4 big end is getting little oil to it

Engine is coming out again for a close inspection

Anyone got oil path diagram where the oil flows for the 1.8t 20v engine

Hope you get it all sorted matey! I remember how screwed up my bearings were when i had the bottom end rebuild!

Hi,

Given the other shells are all ok... you quite certain the cap was around the right way on the rod that has the scored bearings ?

Would be a bad mistake, but seen it before.

*EDIT*

Looking more closely at the score marks, it would not appear to be the cause.

Regards
Morgan

Hope you get it sorted andy, it will be a beast when you get it done ;)

No rest for the wicked till then fella

I do believe it will be a beast when done as i've been reading about speedy steve's S3 with over 300bhp so i hope mine will do a little more than his

Will be taking a few more things off to make it easier to remove the block
