Cleaned out the catch can for the second time over the weekend. The amount of gunk in it was insane. I got no photos though as I was in a bit of a rush!
Hi guys,
My water temp was very slow to hit 90 lately and when giving it a bit of welly it would drop down as low as 70 and the odd time below 70. I changed the thermostat over the weekend and now it gets up to 90 like normal. The weird thing is, even sitting on the ramp at the weekend if you...
Minor update. The car has been driving like a dream. The guy that was due to map the car back in June couldn't do it in the end.
It passed the NCT after changing the rear axle bushes to polybushes.
A friend of mine is looking at getting a MK1 TT, and talking to him about building an engine has...
Can confirm, been in too many cars on the first spin with a new FMIC, POP!! Always happens. You will NEED a bead on the end of every pipe AND good clamps. I think sfs/ramair or something like that on ebay do 3 in a packet and had a decent offer on 3 for £15, 9 good clamps for £15 is very good.
The vast majority of catch cans that I've seen aren't baffled, I even went for a slightly more expensive one to ensure it was baffled... it wasn't! Vent to atmosphere and all is well. I had a little filter on mine, but soon changed to the pipe running down by the gearbox.
I'm not sure about the dollar to pound, but the dollar to euro has crippled us in ireland buying parts state side.
Even local car shops have stopped stcoking American cleaning products as a result.
With all that effort to get a spacer, you'd be better off getting it coded out at the same time as getting a custom map. From what I know from reading here and friends that have revo maps, they are very aggressive and spikey.
You don't need the second sensor at all, as said above, it is there...
CR turbo... you poor fella... I'd bet money (going on my own experience and speaking to a few very known guys) that there is a single oil feed on a twin feed bearing. Be prepared to take it out and hand it over to bbt to repair it! Check the oil level regularly and if it's burning oil, it must...
From what I've read, them not being genuine is a pretty big deal. Different spray pattern and they never flow at what they claim to. Open to correction.
I have a set of bosch 440s in mine that will be coming out as soon as I can find 750+. They need to be mapped to the engine, but they work amazingly well. When do you need them?
There was a crowd on ebay doing hoses in that colour when I was looking for hoses for mine. Forget the name but it can't be that hard to find.
Edit: they were also very reasonable on price.
