I guess i'm the complete opposite - if i am spending hard earned cash i want to know the car will deliver what i want. I normally try to get a demo without the sales person. I had the DSG for 3 hours and tried really hard to like it. The Quattro took 2 mins to make me smile.

Yes - used all modes. Auto mode (D) i found slow, (S) mode was much better. Particular things that got me annoyed was when i changed my mind about powering on or off - DSG just too slow to react. In manual mode 1st thing i did was red line it to see what happened. v. dissapointed as it reverted...

Well the stealers don't have a 170 quattro available until next weekend. Will have to wait until then unless i can find another dealers near where i work in the week. I've done about 3 hours in a DSG and it left me completely neutral. I did'nt come away raving and did'nt come away with...

The demo car had 980 miles on the clock....do you think the low mpg i saw could be due to the low mileage? Have you noticed any improvement over time? Are you glad you chose the s-tronic or do you have moments where you wish you had a manual? Grimsa.
