I have removed mine from my S3 and my previous MKV GTI also. Both occasions the nut was seized meaning I had to hacksaw the arm off. Simply to do, just means the wiper delete is permanent.

Turned out to be one of the tweeters causing the issue! It had come loose from the housing and the contacts were touching the bodywork

It will most likely be the pump. I had to replace mine as it hd burnt out due to Audi stating the pump is lifelong and not deemed serviceable. Before i changed the pump my rear wheels stopped engaging and my traction control was always kicking in. Your tyres will not be causing this. Get the car...
