iv tried to launch my s3 but it does not want to rev up. iv switched the esp off completely put my car in sports but when i rev it does not want to rev up it struggles to rev up. What am i doin wrong. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not want to. its temperemental

You do have LC on whatever year your S3 is, -right? -Also, make sure that you're in 'S' and not 'D'.

what is lc? its a 2009 model. yeah i put it in s mode sometimes it takes sometimes it doesnt take.
The brake pedal should be engaged for a few seconds before fully pressing the accelerator.

Function is listed as optional in the handbook - there have been other threads and also vids on Youtube showing this working, if you DO have it revs should stabilise at 3k RPM IIRC when you have brake and accelerator engaged.
I went to test dive the new golf gtd before ordering the A3 and the dealer said the car has L.C but its disabled, although it can be re-activated by people in the know (independant specialists).
my 2009 S3 s-tronic has LC, and it came as standard. revs to about 3200. you need to press and hold the ESP button for about 5 seconds, until you get the 'ESP off' on the DIS and an orange warning light will stay on. then foot on break pedal, select 'S' or as i prefer manual, accelerator pedal to the floor, but LC will limit the revs, then foot off break. and away you go!
