Just a quick question with refernce to the ICE in Audi vehicles..well specifically the S3.

I currently have the stock Bose setup with the sub etc in the boot; the headunit is an Audi Concert unit (not sure on model number)

My question being; I am able to upgrade the HU to a Symphony or Chorus unit?

I was speaking to someone the other day who said the Symphony is a better spec unit? Is this true and what are the differences of the three units?

Many Thanks

Have a look here: http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/audi/radios/

I went from a concert 1 to a doubledin setup, which temporarily i have a symphony running in at the mo and there is virtually no difference soundwise.

Upgrade wise - a symphony or any doubledin is a lot of work unless you have a facelift (2001+) A3/S3, even then requires a good few centre console parts.

If you went to a symphony II you could have an in dash 6 CD changer.

Edit: i see your S3 = 2003! :keule:

All Audi HU's are the same basic spec, the only difference being tape/CD/6 CD

Big thanks for the help on this guys :icon_thumright:

Slighty off subject... when i got the car i noticed in the centre console there was a phone output type thing; and in the glovebox a cradle for an Nokia type business phone. If i purchase the correct phone could i run this through the stereo? It all looks like standard Audi stuff, but i dont have a multi function wheel. Got me a little confused

If its an old CARK-91 kit, you can connect to the speaker out and mute wire to the rear of your concert/symphony etc

Then the front speakers are utilised for your phone

If you extract your headunit, you can check if the wiring is already present.

I used to have one with a cradle for a nokia 6210, although the controller had been removed by a previous owner.

these days its a parrot, nokia CK-1W or some other bluetooth device
