Broken window mechanism??

Arrived at work this morning, went to open my drivers window to use my barrier card and was greeted with a horrendous crunching noise. Now my window won't operate, you can hear the motor 'trying' but nothing. There has never been even a hint of trouble before this....any ideas before I launch in head long with the screwdriver??

Plus one on reg it a bit of a job dont buy the repair wire but the whole thing i did mine last week these are the puc i took as doing it a.neg of ebay is about £15 prob take a hour or 2 change yourself.

And the 'crunching' noise would've been the white part that the motor connects to.....

Yea thats the right part and it can make some strange noise i wouldnt touch it get the window up and leave it untill you can fix it also when you shut the door be soft just in case the glass drops.

Just thought of a couple of things when i did mine you need a torx 45bit i have a few torx sets but all stopped at 40 so had to buy a 45 also exten bar for one bolt. It would be a big help it you have a second person to help lift the window half out of the door as i did it on my own but would have been way easer with a second person then no chance of scratching paint work.also on you new reg there will be a cable try on the blue block with the white wheel dont cut the untill its in place in the door.

All done and it works brilliantly. Getting some new clips is a must if you're taking door cards off and these came in handy.....
