i sent my rear lip spoiler into be sprayed last week, and my friends brother was going to do it as he does insurance resprays on mercs and is very good

anyway got a call today to say it was ready for picking up, so get there and ask where my friend and get told he was off sick this week, but dont worry one of the other lads has sorted it.

so they gave me the spoiler all nicely wrapped up to protect it. so take it home thinking all is well

but when i unwrap it at home its the wrong ****** colour!!!! or at least the wrong shade.
my car is santorin blue (lz5k) according to the original stickerin the owners handbook, but the spoiler is a completely different shade it is way more purple in colour and darker.
so now im going to have to take it ****** back and get them to re do it again, i reckon they mixed the paint and added to much of one colour, ill take the car with me this time so they ca see what colour it should be!!

i was looking forward to fitting it tomorrow , well they better get it re sprayed for the weekend now.....T**TS

my old a4 was ming blue. someone hit the bumper at cinema once, had it painted - same thing wrong colour! some colours have several shade options when mixing. they may need your car present to mix it right. its a common problem in paintshops.

Hibiscus red for the win lol, it only comes in one shade !
I have had allsorts painted on mine and it always looks right

Silvers and other light colours are normally really bad for colour matching

White's a complete c*nt to mix.

took it back today and theyve redone it, this time it looks spot on, maybe not 100% but 99.9 i think because its new paint against old

I had a lip spoiler painted up in Ming Blue by a local ChipsAway franchisee and he did a good job. The bloke took the paint code but also asked for the manufacturing year. Apparently sometimes manufacturers change the shade of a colour over time, but they keep the same paint code.

not fitted it yet steve will be doing that saturday after ive washed car etc.

then ill some some out
