hey guys

Cant thank you guys enough already, my car was missing SD card and had no sat nav, you cant beat google maps but i hate when my batterys low or data allowance is in the red lol

Anyways, following advice on here, i found a guy 1 mile away selling cards, saw one starting with 8v, we plugged it in, 5 mins later i have sat nav !!! Fully live and functioning

Audi charge £400 odd to programe, no need clearly cards can be used just has to be a certain code, for the headache its worth shopping around !

If anyone is near birmingham city centre and wants the lads details il be happy to PM his number,

Thanks again guys, now just find me a complete scorpion system for the price of a few pints loool

So that was someone retro fitting it I take it?

No mate, my car has sat nav, but the sd card was missing, usually when u replace SD card the dealers charge £400 to connect a new SD to your current mmi.

This guy has a bunch of SD cards, you just try a few and one may happen to activate your sat nav without the programming like it did in my case

If the SD card is missing all you need is a replacement SD card of the same year the original SD card with the car was, so the year or year before of when your car was made most likely.

You need to be careful with wording here as it wont activate SD card navigation if it didn't come with it in the first place, thats a dealer only/ODIS procedure.

I have a mate that works at Audi and quoted me with discount £445 for it to be installed as I didn't spec it on build.

Fair enough guys

I was told that any card will need to be programmed regardless of the age and the model year etc

Either way a few quid sorted it
