My car is due to go this week, I was going to let the cargo net, first aid kit, leads for mmi etc. go with the car. However, a mate of mine just said, "No, take them out and sell them on ebay, forum etc.".

So what is the general thinking on this?

Think I'd feel a bit of a sh** taking them out!

Why? They are yours to take out. You have paid for them. If it makes you feel better just let the person know that is buying it that you’ve taken them out

Who are you selling to? If selling privately and the person buying has checked to see that these bits are present then you have to sell the car with them otherwise I'd take them out and sell them. I'd probably leave the first aid kit though.

Take 'em out... hence why I have an A1 bootmat in my A3 & the little cointray / ashtray sell for good money on the bay of evil !!! :grinning:

P.S the original owner of my A3 had the MMI leads away, but they're cheap enough to replace from sources other than Audi.

Is selling them worth the effort and would you use the item if you kept them? Assume you are replacing the car, will this come with similar?

If it came with the car, it goes with the car IMO. That said, I wish I’d kept the puncture kit/compressor from my A4.

I did keep the bits I bought separately, such as the baggage handles for the boot (same part between A4 and S3 Saloon, so saved me some money), and I kept the rubber floor mats.

Do they come with the car as standard?
I collected the A5 today and she said that some dealerships have stopped providing the cables all together, the one for my A5 is £50...they are cutting costs! I sent them an email a few hours before collecting telling them what phone I have, that was after reading a post on here saying that "You have to ask for them". So maybe if I hadn't have asked!!!

The Audi change holder didn't come with the A5, so I'm glad I kept that!

I like those change holders. Too tight to buy one at £40 though. :D

They also go for under £10 used. That guy is having a laugh thinking he will get £40 for it! New ones on ebay for £20...

Dealer, just left the safety stuff- jackets/first aid kit/triangle ;) I took the leather pouch that holds the oil out, as I wanted that for my emergency coolant, so now got one of each in the new car stuck to the side :)

Hmm come to think, not seen any safety jacket in the A5!!!

@4K - Because its the right thing to do
Not really. Some people had to pay for their MMI -> Lightning cables, and they're OP at £50 each. They paid for them, they're entitled to them.

Leaving your car in good condition is the right thing to do.

Jesus! the state of the modern mind set, if it ain't bolted down.....flog it. Hey the wheels could sell for a pretty penny, sell them on eBay, well you paid for them, they're yours!!!!

Bit extreme, but each to their own, if that's your thing.

Quite a few differing opinions on this topic

@4K - The world would be a pretty boring place if we were all the same :)

Go with your gut instinct! The worst way, by retaining the First-Aid Kit it could deprive someone of help in the event of having to treating a life threatening injury. In more general terms, is it really worth the aggravation of dealing with e-bay just to gain a couple of quid when dealing with the sale of a vehicle costing thousands of ££££'s - Sounds a bit mean, doesn't it?

I didn't take that out, I left all the safety stuff in :)

A member on here was after the cargo net as he didn't get one in his car, so he had that off me and I used the mug in the A5, as they didn't give me one this time. I also offered another member on here the oil you get when you buy the car as he was low and needed some quick. As with the leads I offered them to another member for free as he needed some.
