Showing quality control, but it’s following the rubbish automated tracker! What the hell is the point in a tracker if it’s automated, really annoying. Guess I won’t see any truth now until it leaves, ***.

My detailer is booked 5 weeks from now, if it’s late I lose a big deposit.... the PPF installer is booking a hotel to come to us today.

So in usual fashion for me, nothing goes as well as it could.
So people have had their leave the factory before the build date, I’m 5 days after my build date now and I’m still showing as being stuck in the fake QC that the tracker shows, fml.

My biggest concern is the detailer I have booked, I have a £660 deposit with them of which I’ve now been told I will lose £300 if I have to change date
Which the car is proving to be late now, great. I agree the last few months have flown by, selling the S3 has come and gone fast. I’m very anxious to see it now, it’s been one long build up.

You knew what Audi are like with timescales...surely the poorest company of any kind in the world at delivering anything on time. It was crazy to pre book something when reliant on Audi to deliver something on time! I agree the last few months have flown by, selling the S3 has come and gone fast. I’m very anxious to see it now, it’s been one long build up.
The PPF guy books up 6-8 weeks in advance, I had no choice but to make a booking and it was 5 weeks after the build date. Audi told me when if it was booked 3 weeks after build it “should be ok”.
I’ve now been given an option to delay until 5th December, in which case I won’t be picking the car up until the 9th... absolute ball ache! I will have been without a car for 7 weeks and the RS probably parked up doing nothing for 3 weeks of that.
I’m going to speak to a different PPF guy today and see if he will be more flexible.
Cars have been leaving the factory the weekend before they are due to be built, consistently. Mine is now the weekend after build and it hasn’t left, but you know my luck.
I’m surprised he’s taking anything of you at all as really he should be working around you, the last two places I’ve used for it have been fantastic for coming and going.

This is the thing, he isn't working around me instead I've got a battle on. I don't know how on earth he makes it work for new cars arriving by transporter if he throws stupid lead times at people. The car is going to my usual detailer and the PPF guy is travelling down from Doncaster to install it in my detailers unit, they are friends.
I am about to go and see another local company, but the building is a shack in comparison and that alone doesn't attract me. The company I've got money with now are top notch in the PPF business, its done very regularly. The more local company don't work with it as often, from what I can see online. Got to be worth a try through I suppose.
I've now been given 2 dates, 13th November and 5th December. So I have to pick from either, that is as far as his flexibility goes.
Well it’s a no brainier really as if he’s as good as you think he is then it’s got to be the later date to defo secure his services.
Means though still using the birds Corsa if the car arrives way before that date to not have any risk of stone chips.
Mines is in storage on trickle charger now and has been for 4 weeks cause our roads being gritted regular now and the crap weather, so I doubt you’ll want to drive it in this anyway, it’s up to you bud.

Quick check today and much order I will now showing in them tracker
Currently it just shows the order details and then the four spinning rings... I’m guessing this is normal? At what stage should I see more information? And what’s the first thing I should see? A projected build week?

From what I’ve seen, he seems to have a lot of good work.
I’ve got 3 options left;
1) Book my current guy for December 5th and wait, using my Mums and girlfriends car when I can. But it means the RS3 will be sat around for a few weeks, which will kill me. This means the car goes to my detailer and is collected having been PPF’d and ceramic coated, so all done.
2) Book other local company, who I hope will be more flexible but I’m going to investigate that now.
3) a company called Reep Midlands, I’m about to call them and find out how flexible they are and prices. They have individual glass booths for cars and pretty much every photo they have, contains a few ferrari’s. I’d have the PPF applied there and then drive the car down to my detailers to have it left there for a few days to be finished off with coatings etc.
Reference the **** weather, yep.. it won’t be used in crap weather! The idea is that it will never see a wet road, if I ever get caught out then that’s that but I don’t need a car for work but I won’t be using it pointlessly in rubbish weather, it should stay mint then.

It’s because the tracker is down at the moment, normally those rings would load into a predicted build date.

Ahh got’ya mate... has it been down for a while? Or does it go down for maintenance etc fairly regular?
I’m guessing my dealer will have that predicted build date on another system to give me then?

Well the other local place was rubbish, so that’s totally off the cards.
I’m travelling 150 miles up to Leicester tomorrow, to Reep Midlands for a guided tour. Extremely impressive place, totally won over by the guy on the phone and they are totally flexible. Once I’ve paid my deposit, they do the car whenever it turns up and if it’s late at a days notice that’s what it is. He said they are used to dealing with expensive cars like Ferrari’s etc, they can get told one day the car is late and the next that it’s here and they accommodate it. They have enclosed glass bays to work on the cars in and they have a 3 day cure time, so it will be certain to be right before it leaves.
Going tomorrow is a formality really, but it’s worth it to settle my worries. So the car will be transported from Worcester Audi to Reep Midlands and then I will drive it down to my detailer to have it coated and finished off. It will be worth it in the end.....

Just need to find out what ship its on as it updated this morning early on.

Mine still hasn’t left the factory :’( I need to be sleeping now, up at 5am to go scouting a PPF place out up north but 1am has creeped up on me and I find myself awake waiting for the update. So am I right in saying it being Saturday, it will be 2 weeks exactly from leaving the factory to being on a ship? I believe yes they will go to the closest, but like mine in Worcester.. it’s pretty much smack bang in the middle of two ports, so it’s not a certainty. But I’m led to believe it’s not always the closest and could end up being the furthest. I asked my salesman and he wasn’t sure, but when they opened up the order screen I saw something on there that stated “Port of Grimsby”, so that must be the plan and is the closest by a little bit.

Grimsby ship left 20th at 12.56 and arrives 21st 16.40

Right so mine hasn’t changed, starting to get pretty p***** now. We are nearly into the second build week, the tracker is rubbish and the dealer keeps emailing me daily just to say “it hasn’t left yet”.
Providing I’m running on time tomorrow, I pass the dealer coming down the motorway so I will be calling in and asking him to call the factory. If they can’t be bothered to ensure the tracker is accurate, they need to be prepared to give information over the phone when a car is late. It’s really annoying because others with a build of 16th October saw their cars leave a week ago, a week later I’m still somewhere in the factory potentially still in bits.
So it’s now turned over into the Sunday after the cars build date, tomorrow will be another build week? Guess what?.. yep, it still hasn’t left.. ***!
