2016 Audi RS3 8V Sportback MSS Kits UK Development Car Magnetic Ride Re-calibration!

It maybe a bank holiday weekend but VAG Car Coding always has time for the modding community and this evening saw @im_conrad pop over for a chat and a MagRide re-calibration on his MSS Kits equipped RS3. This MRC Stage 1+ tuned vehicle is currently running a development suspension setup and I have to admit that after a test drive, this was probably the best riding RS3 I have seen to date, so much so that I thought the re-calibration process would not make much of a difference!

Initial impression post works is that the car is way better over our London speed bumps and potholes, with the rear rebound / bounce “feature” of the MagRide significantly reduced, while a spirited blast around Alexandra Palace returned a more planted feeling. We are really looking forward to further feedback on this one!

2016 Audi RS3 8V Sportback DSG Re-calibration and Diagnostic Coding Session!

Following on from last weeks Magnetic Ride re-calibration session, @im_conrad popped back over today for a diagnostic and coding session as his car had some pre-existing errors he wanted looking at now that we had gained his trust. After completing a full diagnostic protocol VAG Car Coding reset this vehicles coding, adaptations and parameters back to stock factory configuration, diagnosed and resolved the issues, and the reapplied all the previous modifications. We finished the session off by performing an official DSG Gear Box re-calibration and re-adaptation.

•Online Software Version Management completed
•Several issues diagnosed and resolved
•DSG Gear Box Re-calibration completed
•DSG Gear Box Re-adaptation completed
•Works logged and recorded to Official Audi Digital Service Record
•Oil Temperature Display within all DIS Menus activated

Piece by piece the owner of this vehicle, @lashrulz, is face-lifting this perfect example of an Audi A5, with the latest component being the climate control / HVAC unit. Modern Audi components are protected by an anti-theft system called Component Protection, which can normally only be removed via a dealership visit and large bill. Before completing the modifications I found that although the vehicle has factory power adjustable & folding mirrors, they did not fold on lock even if set via the MMI system. This is a known issue which VW Group has issued an update / fix for. Have the same issue with your mirrors, vehicle still under warranty? Contact Audi for your free fix. Not under warranty? VAG Car Coding can complete the fix for a fraction of the cost!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2011 Audi A7 4G 3.0TDI SE Dynamic Sweeping Tail Lights and RS6 Seats Retrofit!

After purchasing a Dynamic Sweeping Tail Light retrofit kit from well known supplier, the owner of this Audi A7 project car contacted VAG Car Coding as the supplied instructions and coding dongle did not work. The owner had also retrofitted Power Adjustable, Memory and Heated RS6 Super Sports seats however these were not functioning as component protection needed to be removed.

•Audi Dynamic Sweeping Tail Light Hardware and Coding retrofit completed

The owner of this Audi RS3 had collected all the parts he believed he needed in order to complete a Virtual cockpit retrofit but on researching the actual installation process realised that this is no easy task. After contacting VAG Car Coding we were able to both consult on and indeed complete this retrofit to a very challenging vehicle. Challenging? There were many things which were different to the norm with this car and VAG Car Coding had to dig in deep in order to see this through to conclusion!

Cannot do this with Cloned Software - Updates Day!

As with all industries vehicle modification also has its fair share of cloned software and fake hardware available via all the popular online auction sites. That new eBay or Aliexpress cable might look great but I bet you cannot update the software in order to be current, compatible and supported.

Don’t trust “a man with a VAG-COM cable” or a “road side modder”. While there have been success stories there have also been failures, big failures! Genuine tools use high quality parts, fake tools use the cheapest parts which often get very very hot and have been known to cause big issues from rogue coding to shorting out and frying control modules. Mr Modder is using a cloned tool? Chances are they don’t have liability insurance, and if they did then it would actually not be valid!

Just one of the many RS3OC member cars we worked on at ADI 2017 however there was an issue with this vehicle. Purchased Audi Used Approved, this car was sold to its new owner as being equipped with the Audi Magnetic Ride system but when VAG Car Coding connected up in order to complete a re-calibration, car is lowered on H&R springs, we found that the complete system was missing! Just incase this was a software / coding issue, dampers looked correct, we completed a factory database configuration check and although all the PR codes point to this car as having MagRide the system was not added to the car during its build!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

V3NKO! VAG Car Coding rescues this BEAST following an Audi main dealer screw-up!

If you think you know your Audi / VAG scene and you don’t know this car… then its time to go back to school! Currently running 505bhp following extensive development and modification works, this vehicle is truly stunning both under the bonnet and on the outside!

This vehicle recently had a custom roll cage fabricated and installed, but during the installation an airbag was disturbed and a warninglight triggered. Due to VAG Car Codings workload the owner took the car to his local Audi Dealership in order to have the light cleared but the car came back with a number of issues including Drive Select, Start / Stop and Cruise Control systems no longer working! The dealership acknowledged the issues and advised that they did not know how to resolve the problems, “contact someone with VCDS” they said, but at least they cleared the warning light lol.

VAG Car Coding is proud to say that we are the only 3rd party coding company the owner has trusted to work on his vehicle, and was contacted again in order to sort out the dealership mess. We found that the Engine ECU coding and the Cruise Control System had been completely wiped out! Using our official tools and applications we were able to restore all the codings and configurations needed in order to get this monster back on the road again. We then restored all our previous modifications and added a few more.

2014 Audi A3 8V 1.8TFSI Sportback Remote Coding Assistance!

An interesting one this. The owner has power adjustable and folding mirrors, which by default fold / close either when the mirror selection switch is turned to the close position or when the vehicle is locked, but ideally the owner wanted the mirrors to not fold on lock but only via a long press on the remote Key Fob….. not normal functionality! Not a problem for VAG Car Coding! Having coding software himself, we were able to remotely locate the needed modification and then provide remote coding assistance in order to make it happen.

Little things like this help to already make a great car even better!

2014 Audi S3 8V Saloon Direct TPMS and Magnetic Ride Re-Calibration for VWR Springs!

Session One with this fully loaded Audi S3 8V Saloon. The owner has had Active Tire Pressure Management hardware installed within his vehicle but no one has yet been able to code it working and as a result the car failed its MOT due to a TPMS warning light. VAG Car Coding was able to configure all working as needed however 2 errors remained. In order to have the vehicle pass its MOT we have reverted all configurations back to the start passive TPMS and will be attacking the Active system again within a second session.

This vehicle has also had VWR lowering springs installed, giving an all-round drop of approx 25mm. Although the ride was “ok” we know it could be better! VAG Car Coding performed an Audi Magnetic Ride re-calibration and now the car is so much more compliant on the road and the rear end “bounce” has been removed. Performing this on a vehicle with VWR springs was a first for us and have to say, not bad. A good option if you are looking to lower your car.
