So my S3 is dyno'd at 355bhp with an APR Stage2+ map, BCS System, APR HPFP and a Performance VW CAI.

My question is (and has been asked before - but I like things in black and white), what do I need to get 400+bhp? My guess is a Wagner intercooler, RS3/4 injectors(?) and a TTE420? I'm no real expert. Do I need anything else and does anyone know if APR would map the hardware once fitted or would I need R-Tech?

Check the apr website. They have tte420 map and also list of required parts.

The APR route will achieve 400 BHP with the TTE 420 but you will need an APR version of the low pressure fuel pump if you use their software.
I chatted to AKS about this last week and they said that my RS4 fuel return valve would need to be upgraded to their 165 version. Depending on how old your car is then a TTRS lpfp or a different pump would be needed if you have a prefacelift car. I cannot remember the name at the moment but AKS would tell you. No need for RS3 8V injectors. Decent intercooler is a must.
You would expect being an APR customer already that you would have a discount on the price as this is another upgrade. Awesome told me that it would be full price unless there was a discount running at the time.
So this removes any advantage of being an existing APR coustomer.

AKS told me that R-Tech could do the mapping and if you had all the right hardware then 420 BHP would be achieved.

Others have already given you some good information, have you got a BCS TBE or just the DP? The DP is the most restrictive part of the S3's stock exhaust system by far, however a BCS cat-back does also bring its benefits, albeit far less compared to the DP.

Do you have the VWR CAI? If so, that has been proven to be restrictive at stage 2+ and above, that would also be why you're also at the lower end of stage 2+ figures. Get a Revo CAI or the old ITG Maxogen as they've got the best air flows and are highly thought of.

I would go for a serious FMIC instead of the cinese overpriced wagner.
Pushing 2.5bar boost with tube&fins fmic on my tdi leon, very low IAT compared to ambient. Just my thought.

You either need RS3 or 4 injectors or a 165 bar fuel pressure valve for the fuelling. Wagner intercoolers give the best results, they flow incredibly well. We have never seen 420 bhp from a TTE420 or any hybeid K04, so it depends on the Dyno used. 412 is the most, with most around 400bhp being the norm. Everything has to be spot on for this to work.

Consider the Beach Buggy hybrid aswll, it, the Loba 4xx and the TTE420 are give the best results.

Thankyou all that's given me a lot to re-read and study! I appreciate it.
