Facelift UK RS3 Saloon/SB (400ps) Order Thread...

Couple of Ara blue RS3 Saloons together...

I actually prefer the chrome exhaust surrounds. I think the black gloss exhaust tips get lost in the rear diffuser and from afar you can't see them. I wonder what the normal exhaust sounds like with either the downpipe gutted or the secondary cars bypassed? (Presuming the car has both a primary cat in the downpipe and secondary cats further back?)

Leo-RS - yes my thoughts, I need to decide today if I want to change the wheels - and although it could be seen as a waste I too can't help just thinking sod it and get the larger staggered setup even if I do remove them.

Its Sunday so bear with me ....

If the tyres fit flush on the rims then the 255 fronts should sit the same as the 235 rears due to the offset (ET43 vs ET49) so 0.6mm difference taking into account the wider wheel (quick calcs so dont quote me on that!), so wont be noticeable. 235's can fit on a 8.5J rim as I have them on my RV019's at the moment. If I fit these (RV019) then due to the offset they will all sit 2mm wider front and rear than the standard wheels. A 255 tyre would fit this 8.5J rim but due to the offset unsure if / what problems it may cause.

Pinched from another post ... something like this (quite like this colour too)

I have ordered red calipers so should look good with wheels in gloss black

yeh I must learn how to avoid the options list. I have no willpower. Putting down big deposit and getting a small discount and trade in to keep monthlies reasonable as my keep it for 4 or 5 years. Won't be paying much more a month than my s3

Nooo, £54,200... bargain, poverty money ;)
lol 54200 is hardly cheap. mine was 54195 but then I added mag ride, extended leather and matrix lights. thought about the tyre monitoring and viewed an r8 with it but thought it was a nice gimmick but save myself the 250. Lol

agreed. Colour is personal thing but if you like blue then see it up close and don't rely on pics as it looks far better in the flesh. My fav colour is blue but when the s3c came out I didn't like blue options of estoril and then sepang

Mag ride is a must, not for the firmness but the comfortability on a gentle drive. I am looking to add the tyre pressure monitoring, not sure what to do... was going tomorrow to do it.

Not really missed having the tyre pressure monitoring in other cars myself so left that off, plus if I swap the wheels it will be pointless,

It's not Tyre Pressure Monitoring like you think, the car has that anyway! It's live Tyre pressures and tyre temperatures.

Yeh we have that in the Wife's - hardly use it to be honest and not something I would miss - crazy as I've ticked most other boxes

I chose it today, another gimmick. How realistic / reliable is the pressure system?

A very useful gimmick though, saves you having to check tyre pressures weekly/monthly etc. Useful if running a high powered car for traction and temps, drag strips, vmax, autobahn, track days etc.

A lot of people won't really have much use for it and treat it as a bit of a gimmick though if all that above is not important to them.

Have had no reliability issues with mine.

But I'd be hesitant whether to trust it for tyre pressures, exact to PSI. I'd probably still find myself checking every couple of weeks.

Its pretty accurate, wife's shows pressure in bar.

Tip, fill your tyres with Nitrogen then pressures don't change like with "normal" air.

I have heard that nitrogen is better, a place close to me does it. But does it really not drop at all?!

Went into dealership yesterday and signed for an RS3 Sportback, I dropped the option of "Top speed restriction increase to 174mph" and added "Warranty 4 Years 75,000 Miles". On the order form it says "Est delivery date 30/09/2017" and on yourAudi it says "Your RS 3 Sportback is expected to begin construction on 21st August 2017".

Final spec:

RS Sport suspension with Audi Magnetic ride
RS Sport exhaust system
Ceramic brakes
Daytona grey, pearl effect
Comfort and Sound Pack
Deletion of model and technology badges at rear
Door mirrors (folding with auto-dimming function)
Extended Interior Upholstery Pack
Front Super Sport seats with RS embossed logo
Matrix LED headlights with LED rear lights and dynamic front and rear indicators
Matt Aluminium roof rails
Panoramic glass sunroof
Privacy glass
Tyre pressure monitoring system
Warranty 4 Years 75,000 Miles

I assume those who are ordering the ceramics, know the cost of replacing them? Haha.

Well aware of the cost of ceramic disc's, if things stay to plan it'll not be me whose chosing to either replace them when shot or change them to a steel disc set up

Given the amount of cars with ceramic disc's nowadays, I predict the price will only come down now anyway as they become nore and more mainstream.

I wouldn't have paid the £5000 upfront for them even if the discs were the same price as steel I don't think, my car is only for road use.

I think it may be a while before it comes down, I may be wrong though. Ceramic discs aren't common with the cars we see day to day on the roads, it's a serious modification.

Mine are spot on a year after fitting. Less pressure changes with heat I believe too.

So spec confirmed , BW36

Comfort and Sound Pack
Red Brake calipers
Door mirrors (folding with auto-dimming function)

Hi al, new to posting on here.
Some good reads on the posts from the various PFL owners and prospective FLs.
I've had 3x S3's and finally taking the plunge for a new RS3 Sportback.
Should arrive late September, just had build confirmed for early Sep.
Spec is pretty basic but still came in at ~49K !!
Mythos black
Sports Exhaust
B&O
Privacy glass
Hill start
Extended leather
Titanium wheel upgrade
4yr warranty
The useful boot mat !
Ordered via Whetstone Audi who owed by a 'loyalty bonus'!! for this being my 4th car via them which basically worked at as 1000 dealer contribution and the Quattro package (paint and wheel protection + GAP) so around 3.5% off.
I cant complain - asked for more but they are (as you know) tight as!

Anyway can't wait to step up from the S3 !

Congratulations, glad to see another S3 owner taking the plunge. I'd strongly recommend against dealer protection packages for the car itself even if it's free (free GAP is good though). You'd be much better spending £300 at a dealer and having it done properly. The cars aren't prepped at Audi, they seal ontop of all the nasty contaminants picked up on the long journey from Germany.

My car was badly treated from new by the dealer. Better to leave it dirty and pay for a detail by an expert say Fran on here.

I had my Golf R detailed when new, 100% arranging this again. Gtechniq coatings.

Coming from a S3 8V ordered the new Rs3, delivery date is still unknown but expect November.. (hope earlier)

Exterior:
Mythos Black
19 Inch Rotors, black 255vs235
Black optic pack
Privacy Glass
RS Sport Exhaust
Black Gloss mirrors, Electric
Matrix Lights
Panorama Roof
Red Brake Calipers

Interior:
RS Design Pack
S-Sport Seats
MMI+ Touch
Virtual Cockpit
Bang & Olufsen
Heated seats

Extra:
Comfort Key
5 Year warranty

At first wasn't that sure about the Matrix but found with the Matrix the headlights look more aggressive, not sure what else they do other than having moving indicators.
