Hello,

I'm looking to replace three parts from the breather aspect of my 1999 A3 1.8T. The metal breather pipe has some quite bad rust on it and the rubber hoses all appear to be deteriorating.

I'll list the parts and then I have a couple of quick questions about the set.

Parts
06A103213G £56.24 (revised to M according to East Kent Audi)
This part is the longest (and wobbliest in shape) of the set and seems to be made of metal. Is the replacement part metal too or are these parts sold as silicon now?

06A103493H £12.96 (revised to BD according to East Kent Audi)
This is a right angled hose.

06A58103247 £5.45
This is the T-piece which houses the PCV breather valve (not the puck shaped one, the little green one).

06A103221E £36.50 (revised to BR according to East Kent Audi)
This is an ess-shaped hose.

East Kent Audi have provided the prices I've listed next to each part today. These prices include VAT.

Questions
Do these prices seem reasonable? Just over £100 to replace the main parts ordered from Audi direct.
Can anyone recommend any online outlets which might provide a kit for less money?

Hello again - with this repair in mind, can anyone help me understand how to remove the clips used where a jubilee clip has been left out? I intend to replace the with jubilee clips - unless someone tells me that'd be daft because ..........
They're really tricky to work with and have resulted in a couple of skinned knuckles already. (The photo is of the PCV valve from the t-piece hose connector.)

Is there a special tool to use to remove them? And once removed are they just binned or can they be re-used?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Ummmm, one more thing. These fabric-covered hoses...they're quite small...can they be replaced with silicon ones too?
As you can see the one on my hand has split - it was perished and just snapped when I was reaching around below it for the PCV valve earlier today.

About the clips, just go at them with a screwdriver, they're hooked together beyond the crimp.
AFAIK I don't think they can be reused

Yep, you're right, quite easy to gently prize off with a flathead screwdriver. Thanks!

Try the parts request on the top of the page u might get the parts a bit cheaper.
Thanks @hydro s3 - good advice. Crewe Audi came back to me quickly with a good price, just after I'd bought one from TPS in Canterbury.
Of note, TPS were able to get the part I needed in sooner than Canterbury Audi, but for the same price.

TPS, Canterbury: 01227 378 510.

These guys were recommended by Chris from Audi Tech, Aylesham near Canterbury. 01227 469676. I took my 3.2 to Audi Tech and was very happy with the service, their knowledge and the price they charged for the work.
Will be taking that car back to them for an exhaust issue soon.
