I am very much looking forward to getting my S3 Saloon BE in Navarra Blue hopefully within the next ten days.

I chose the BE because it has features I want on my car and I am sure it will look fantastic in a Saloon with sunroof and red brake Calipers.

BUT looking around Audi dealers the BE look very plain to me - There is something about the chrome finish of the Audi grill that just looks like its finished and the way it highlights the shape of the car that just looks better to me. The BE grill look like the forgot to finish it!

I'm curious what other BE owners and non-BE people think? And photos always make a thread better!

I have a BE Navarra S3 ans its amazing. You wouldnt believe it!

Far better without the silver rubbish!

Agreed. Black edition FTW. Looks great in a dark colour with those LED lights. Chrome trim makes it look cheap

Each to their own, I bet if BE was standard and chrome edition was an optional extra at a cost, everybody would say Chrome is the best....

I chose a BE albeit on an Ara Blue car but love it, the chrome can look awesome on the darker coloured cars though I must say.

Love BE on my S5, but really cant get on with the BE wheels on the S3. I really couldnt decide between the two, as I prefer the blacked out details over chrome, and obviously the extras of B&O and privacy glass. Both were very similar price wise too...but the wheels decided it for me in the end.

Chrome I think works well on Navarra and Mythos, but any lighter colour cars BE is king. In the end I went with the standard edition in Navarra.

So I don't like the wheels on the S3 BE either; but I can always change them. The extras were what got me.

Personally I agree although we're all different and like different things. Mine is Navarra and I think it'd look a bit more anonymous in BE trim but like I say it's personal taste.
I've had a number of BE's in various Audi models and it's usually my preference although there was no BE on the S3 when I ordered last Sept. the additional kit is usually things I'd be ordering anyway.
The Standard wheels on the S3 BE are not for me, therefore I'd have been spending more to replace them.

I agree that I think the chrome adds to the class of the Navarra BE but that's based on photos of course. I haven't seen one in person.

Both are nice, but on a Navarra Blue S3..... Chrome wins hands down...... Subjective of course

I feel like the black trim just looks unfinished on the grill. Like they couldn't be bothered! I'm sure my car will look fantastic don't get me wrong just need to see it in person.

Also my car has a kinda black roof (well most of it) as I have the sunroof. So that may set it off nicely but I'm going to change the mirrors to the silver ones. They are much nicer.

It doesn't look unfinished at all, its trimmed with high gloss plastic, it's just that it doesn't photograph that great...... I wouldn't buy a car without seeing it....or something very similar

Well I haven't seen it. I didn't bother looking for one because I assume that black or chrome Audi would make it look great. And I'm sure it will be in person.

I haven't even had a test drive in an S3. I've never driven an Audi but I expect it to be similar to my Golf R and being a tech lover I can't wait to have the VC and self parking!

It's really down to personal preference. For me the chrome works with navarra blue. I also have the 10 spoke upgrade 18" wheels and I like them too.

Am sure it'll be up to your expectations, but the technology euphoria only lasts a certain time, you should have driven one mate, especially coming from a very similar car

I know they are similar; and actually I find that for me the gadgets keep me happy. I have had a year with my R and its gadgets and still love them and its not close to the S3 for tech.

In my opinion we are all paying for a nicer interior, slightly more exclusivity over the golf and most of all paying for the Audi badge, never under estimate the draw of them 4 circles

Black Edition kit all day long on any Audi!

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new A4 BE, and it was a no brainer going for the black edition model. It is actually nice to see that the A4 BE can be speced with a unique colour as well - Quantum Grey. I am not going for an S4, just a derv unfortunately due to business use.

I was a bit nervous that it would be too dark once I ordered. But then the car showed up I am very happy with the BE and Navarra color (see attached).
That being said, I was NOT happy with the BE wheels. I ordered a set of BBS's to replace them with. They will now be used as my winter wheel set. \

Hope this helps in your decision making!

cheers!

I think it looks awesome.

BE FL are a little rarer also, haven't seen many on the road, only Black, White and Daytona, and one Blue, i don't include Floret as i see that every day. ;)

Speaking to a guy from Audi today, he said they have a second car scheme that they can use to get a second car for their wife etc! He said it works in a way that all you pay is the depreciation on the car you have. He said the slowest depreciating car on it is the S3 black edition s-tronic.

So some good news for you guys/girls that have got one :)

That's nice to know!

My bro sent me a pic of one at Bedford Audi, it's up for £41k although the price online is different.

And there's this one on autotrader for £1000 less than I paid brand new but with less options than mine! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201705205665099

Sorry but for me it's the chrome. I never did get the idea of making a top spec car look like a lower spec'd one and then having to pay loads of money for the privilege. :)

Actually I agree with that. Why is black plastic so desirable?

Why is chrome covered plastic so desirable lol
And the answer to your question can only be answered by Audi marketing boys and girls
Same can be said why is the saloon more expensive than the sportback..... Why is exclusive paints.... Etc etc It's all down to marketing

I personally think BE only works with white or black cars. The chrome trim suits the others, otherwise looks dull and just like any other A3.

It's a personal thing...........black can look "stealth" which is quite cool.......and an excess of chrome can be too "bling"........some paint colours seem to work better than others with either look.

Personally.... That's what it's all about, and it's good to have a choice with styling don't you think?
My own opinion is l would prefer matt aluminium over chrome but you have to buy a RS car for that desired look.... Once again it's all down to..... Blah de blah lol

I'd take chrome in Navarra Blue. I took chrome package for my Brilliant Black as well as black looks so plain without chrome bits - looks almost like a cheap Dacia Logan.
