Hi all! Replaced my -12 Audi A6 Avant a few weeks back for a -16 Daytona Grey Audi S3 Saloon automatic. I have been wanting this model since a while back and have been waiting for one with the right color and spec to turn up. The car has most of the extras (panoramic sunroof, pre-sense, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, black exterior package, factory tinted windows etc) and few miles (24000kms) . Previous owner had a tuning box installed which I consider replacing at a later stage for some kind of software tuning (Revo stage 1 maybe) but for now the box is left in there and is good for about 353HP / 457Nm. I have just had the car detailed at Ditec (Ceramic) and I am very happy with the result.
I am mainly very happy with the car and performance, and the jealous looks it gets on the streets puts a smile on my face but I do have a few minor issues. Maybe I am spoiled by the smooth ride from the A6, but sometimes when sometimes driving over speed bumps (Sweden has these f-n things everywhere..), the sound from the dampers produces an irritating sound. Its like a clunking sound (not metallic) and this is even if I am in Comfort Mode. I just think an expensive car like this should not sound like that. I think the sound only comes from the rear dampers. Is there anything to be done about this sound? I also have some plans on lowering the car somewhat in the future, and the second question is how will this work on a car with the adaptive suspension? Any issues or things to consider?
I read there was a lot of different ideas as to when the car actually is in Dynamic mode (when using Drive Select). How do you have your cars setup for this? Since I dont want to constantly press buttons or have too much hassle, I am always in the Individual setting (Drive select button mapped to the * on the steering wheel for quick access) with motor on "auto", suspension/steering on "comfort" and rest in "dynamic". When I want to go faster I put stick down to S and it sounds and feels like the car is in Dynamic? This way also I dont have to manually turn off "start/stop" function every time I change the Drive select mode.
