Hi all,
Managed to source a facelift RNS-E for my 2009 A3. It's the LED version. I've got a few questions which I'm hoping someone can kindly answer.

I understand I'll need a GPS antenna in addition to some kind of adapter to maintain aux functionality on my car? Can anyone explain this further? Also, will i retain my multifunction steering wheel controls? Finally, what size SD cards can I use?

Many thanks in advance.

If your's has the media button and not the cd/ tv button you csn use 32GB cards i use the solid ones in mine without the adaptor ( micro ) so 64GB should be capacity.
I recommend you test your speakers to make sure they all work and by that i mean find within the settings off head unit , play a song and fade out so u hear the back then do same for front as it sounds like all work as the unit is that good with sound , if you happen to find you can't hear them normally back ones you could need it coded to your car through the VCD'S which you will need.to get someone to do that plus best to check your one came out off that type off car as i have an S3 and had some probs getting it coded to car .
Hope that helps answer 1 or 2 off your questions. P.S put mp3 tunes on cards as you get heaps on them

Did you manage to keep your aux input?

i would gather if you got the correct person to code it for you to your car he should be able to keep that.
i have to say i never had an Aux out let in my car just a daft ipod silly carraige in glove box and cradle in atm rest but now with the rnse in i dont need 1 as i play music theough the sd cards and once bluetooth activated i pair that with mobile and use it for everything . hope that kinda helps but if yougt tuck go into S3 8p forum and F a Q there iss a thread about the rnse in it

Hi @Tempz - if your A3 currently has AUX you'll need to rewire it into the 32pin AV connector (1J0 972 977 G) which you can get from eBay or Parts Request to make it work with your RNS-E. You'll need to move 3 wires from the existing quad-lock (4 wires if Bose I think) and resin these in the 32pin AUX plug - there is lots on info on here about it. You may need coding to allow MFSW to work but for some reason my previous 09 A3 was fine.

Re the GPS antenna - any of eBay with a Fakra connector should work. Above the RNSE (between the air vents) there is a cubby-hole, I stuck my GPS antenna in here and constantly received 6 or more satellites. Others put behind the glovebox up by the window but I was too lazy to do this.

Bit of an issue guys, the Radio button on the unit is now stuck inwards, any idea how to get it back out?
