Hello all,
I'm finalizing the configuration for my future order, it will be a S3 Sportback in Daytona, with 19'' wheels, and I was wondering about adding the black pack or not.

It makes the front a bit more aggressive and mean, but in the official Audi pics below they didn't put it, and it looks good as well. More classy, though a little more "normal car" looking.

What's your vote?

Here's the facelift without the black pack:

Very very difficult choice. In both cases it is nice. For me not black pack for more contrast. But with the black is very aggressive!

It is a very close call , I prefer less aggressive. If in doubt save the cash and stay with the chrome

Daytona + Black pack is exactly the car I am waiting for.

Problem is that the wheels with the Black Ed. aren't that great, assuming you are in the UK that is.

Black pack - Really suits the S3

Black pack for all the case :)
The S3 line's very classic. A touch of sport is not too much !

Black pack, no question. I bought chrome PFL and in the end, caved in and got the Grill & vents painted plus the window trim and mirror covers wrapped. I think It just suits the car and colour better

No black pack for me......If it was a honeycomb grille and different wheels, then it would be yes

I opted out because I found that it made the car look like an A3. In north america, it also removes the chrome mirrors.

I opted for no black edition due to the alloys available in the UK.

I always have a play with different configurations, and see what your getting as standard and what your going to make it the car you want.

I think the standard S3 wheels are lovely, and not really a fan of the BE wheels, but i really like the whole Black Edition package, Grill, window surrounds and mirrors. So then the option for me would be to select the 19" wheels with magride, and to be honest, i don't want to run 19's with the cost of the decent tyres, or change the BE wheels for aftermarket, and now the cost of the motor is getting a little pricey.

I know my BE which costs as much as a standard S3, would not of been the car i wanted to run, and nor would the S3 BE, and fortunately for me my BE has a different 18" wheel which i prefer (which also used to be another alternative 18" for the standard PFL S3 giving better scope for the customer).

For me it is the overall package, and looks are important.

Yes I agree.
The 19 wheels will be these ones.
The black pack here in Italy only consists in the black front grill, and the black rear diffuser.
Mirrors and wheels remain untouched, the windows trims are black (unlike the car in the pic, which has those in satin alu).

It's mostly the front grill (chrome vs black) that makes me doubtly.

Ahh, thats's good that the mirrors are kept the same, i do prefer the mirrors in chrome on S models (even if the grill is black).

On an A3 in Floret Silver I would probably go with an S line Black pack but I would have to live with the wheels for the reasons TDI-line mentions. On an S3 still no, Luca the call is yours and those wheels are OK, the UK wheels are not OK. The Canadian option is the best for wheels on what they call Black Optics, but the grill in black, no. A yes for the Canadian black package, and the mirrors also remain in silver, unlike the USA, but only if it came with a honeycomb grill and that is not an option.
I hummed and hawed over the black option on my order, as I think you are doing but the A3 looking black grill did not suit an S3 in my opinion.

I thought that too until I saw an S6 BE and the mirrors were black (Car was red). Knew it was the right to go straight away

Black edition! My Daytona black edition is due march!

I'm not a fan of chrome either & much prefer the black edition.

Chrome grill on its own looks good but I don't like chrome window cappings .... looks way too classy for a sports car.

Black edition looks more aggressive & becoming of a S car imo :sunglasses:

Don't like Chrome, then it's always BE

Was following and then passed by a Grey FL Sportback on the M27 few days back, grey misty late afternoon dusk. Other than the chrome the car was pretty much invisible, in that light the car, road and background were pretty much the same colour kinda blended into one. Great if your into covert ops, not so great if you want the other buggers to see you!

Black pack works very well on Audi's in black, grey or white.
On a red or blue car I'd probably have aluminium.

I'd also be spending the extra on getting the 19" v spokes and mag ride.
Mag ride is the one option that improves the way the car drives, the 19" wheels are an added bonus as they look far better than the BE ones.

Hi Luca79
I think you'll find your video is also standard "not black edition"
The black edition has black door mirrors, full black grill, black lower rear bumper, etc. Personally I prefer the standard, especially with Daytona, the silver/aluminium accents look great with Daytona.

My previous A3 (Ibis White) and current A4 (Misano Red) have both been BE, but I've ordered an S3 in Nano Grey with NO black pack. I think the chrome works a treat on darker colours.

I think Daytona works well with Chrome. The BP makes it look "flat" IMO.

BP on a black car though....:hearteyes:

Mine when I got it in September if it's any help to you.

When I got mine the black edition wasn't available, I got the windows wrapped and the outer edge of the grill and the bumper inserts I think it's the best mix as I'm not a fan of the full black grill and like my sliver mirrors

I think Daytona looks great with the Black Edition box ticked. I'm biased, as I collected mine 3 weeks ago. Here's some pictures so you can make the right decision lol

I got the standard as I like the silver wing mirrors the different colour diffuser, I like that the black pack gives you black grill and window sills, but hated the BE wheels and black mirrors

Absolutely spot on in my opinion. Best of both!

I am a hybrid. The black edition grill and fogs with the silver mirrors and the non BE wheels in 20 inch is pure sex! I also prefer the vertical vane in the fogs to be painted LAP6

Do you have any more pics of you’re grille front on?

I’m thinking of doing the same, outside trim only.
