Hi ,wanting to gut the DPF and delete re gen software etc ,im competant enough to remove DPF etc and a work friend is a superb welder so thats the easy bit ,can i just get away with then only having to delete the regen process ,or is there other things i need to know ? .Thanks in advance

There is more to it, as far as I'm aware.

You need to tweak ecu for emission as it will be greater and DPF sensor has to be disabled also.

Get it remapped while you're at it.

Yoy can't just remove the dpf, it has to be visible. So drilling a hole in it and gutting it is the best bet. It's very time consuming lol

Get your friend to cut along the factory welds at the top and re-weld in the same place then it looks like it hasn't been tampered with and you have no gaping holes in the middle.

As for the ECU, any capable tuner can change values as required.

On the A3 8P Quattro it's an engine out job to remove DPF
