Afternoon all, my A4 has the bog standard rear parking sensors. Acoustic only, the screen doesn't change etc.

Is it possible to activate the parking plus system? I think that's what it's called, I mean the system where to shows the car and indicates which sensor is picking up the obstruction.

Thanks.

Yes it is possible to enable just the rear optical illustration via VCDS on the 8K (if your PDC controller supports OPS) given that the sensors are genuine equipment.

Fitting the parking plus system requires the fitment of front sensors, wiring and a 8 channel pdc controller.

Thanks. So without adding front sensors etc I can simply activate the screen to show for the rear sensors?

You lost me at PDC controller though... It's a 65 plate A4 with factory fitted sensors... will that work?!

Ah, ok facelift then. It doesn't have its own pdc controller, its built into BCM. Pretty sure it's not possible on the facelift and the ops can only be got with front and rears :(

Ah that's a shame! Thanks for your help!

They're not worth having anyway, they change to a constant beep while your still about 1ft away from an object so to me they're absolutely pointless.

After reading this, put VCDS on my 2010 S4 and enabled the optical illustration, works great, would never have known - Thanks!
