Car : A4 B5 1.8tqs December 1999
Fault Code via VCDS : 65535 Control unit failure or internal control module keep alive memory (KAM) error or power failure control unit or bad ground contacts, or no faults recorded if MIL not illuminated.
Part No: 8EO 614 111A
This problem occurred in 2011 and I sent the unit to ECU testing.com who reconditioned it and it's worked perfectly since, I'm now wondering if I should have the same done again by them or just get another unit - I would like to find out what the variations mean on the letters at the end of the part numbers which exactly match from various breakers around, some variations of letters are A AB AH and such like, does this make a difference in coding the units or does a replacement have to match the original part number exactly?
