Possible xenon headlamp group buy??

Apologies for lateness on video.

As you can see... Start off with....

*High Beam (No other lights on)
*Side Lights / High Beam
*Xenons
*Xenons with High beam (activates flap in Xenons) to make "Bi-Xenon"

Pictures of the ballasts, I tried around 10 different types of aftermarket ballast before I made my mind up with these. They are awesome, they have a fast is warm up time but the output they give to a good bulb is very very noticeable against a lot of ebay kits. These little things even to me cost quite a bit, il give you a perspective on it, the price of one of these ballast to me as a wholesale customer will cost the same as a full Slim hid kit that sell for around £35 on ebay. These are OEM spec.

Update on the Adaptor brackets:

They have left the USA, They will be here next week which means now I am going full speed to get these lights done and completed before the end of this month as I have a full diary in OCT so cant be making these up in OCT.

will keep updates and build pics of lights as we go on.

I am now wanting to lock specs down, no changes please, if you have any last changes then please let me know asap as with paintwork once I remove the chrome that's it lol.

Hi G.

Yes, all Water jet, CNC'd so the perfect fit for the 8L and only the Mini H1 7.0's will fit, they look hollow but they are not, that's a pile of 20 brackets.

Done it this was so the bracket can be bought from me but they would need to also buy the projectors from me too as the cheap ebay ones wont work with the bracket.

Ah , that makes sense , there adapter plates :)

Yes, the crap halogen projectors that come in these headlights don't have the same mounting points as the new Xenon ones so I had to have these made which is what the hold up has been as they have to be perfect.

when it comes to future orders/builds of this setup do these brackets/adaptors still need to be sourced from the US? or do you have ownership of the CAD file and can subsequently get these new adaptors fabbed locally? ie. what do you think the turn around time would be for future orders?

Hi Alex.

I have bought 20 sets in, 14 sets are been used up for this GB so I will have 6 sets remaining. I cant see them selling out tooo quick as I would of thought if anyone wanted the conversion they would of joined in so will always have plenty.

Now the CAD file is done getting brackets will be quicker and will be a 10 day turnaround. When I get down to 1 set I will order 10 sets so I am always in stock so don't worry about me running Dry. The hard work has been done and now I can keep them on the shelf for you all.

Since the new headlights will need our existing headlight range adjustment motors and I don't see the point in putting 15 year old motors in new lights. I've looked all over for a decent price tps is 150 for the 2, parts request comes in at 148 got the pair and Stoke Audi is 127 but I came across these for £20-60 each when searching the part number

Which one should I go for if any will fit at that price they got to be worth a try

I can't see them ones been a problem, I would remove the existing connector from your motor and check how many wires going into it before you order just the make sure the new one is the same.

Reason I say this is on newer car xenons when I have opened them they are 4 wires, and halogens are 3, but they internally mounted so your may be the same as a normal halogen but please check.

I like your thinking tj as the original ones as you say are 15 years old. Does anybody know if the original part would still be working properly and if they tend to fail?

Just trying to decide if it's something I should also look at doing but I have no knowledge of the part or it's longevity.

Thanks.

No mine don't but I've also got the level sensors missing from wheel arches tho got them here just not got round to fitting them

Will try and do it today it's easy enough just got to take the wheels off

Then that means it's all working. So everyone needs to check that.

I know Erik has pre facelift halogens so his will have manual height adjustment.

Dont see any movement or hear any motor running , ignition on/off or dipped beam on/off
beam pattern [ dipped ] ok at mot last month ..

G,

Mine don't appear to be doing anything. So you should see/hear the light move (self test) each time you turn them on?

It doesn't have to be when the car is fully loaded or anything?

Good thing is that you guys don't get a error on the dash, newer cars give the error when something is wrong.

Any one got vcds? Best to park facing a wall and try it.

Trups

Morning, ok trups so park facing a wall and turn headlights on. If they don't move I need to replace the two? Headlight levelling sensors?

I'm sure mine don't do anything.

If they don't move is suggest it's the motors that need replacing

Faulty sensors (in arches) will show fault code on a full scan but the motor(in headlights) might not

Unsure bud, they didn't send them in time so I had to cancel the order, but the motors that where in there where buzzing but couldn't see any movement, This car passed a MOT a few weeks back so cant see them been a problem.

They are a 3 pin if that helps.

Mine has never failed an MOT but I dont hear or see my headlights moving.

Are these motors easy to fit or is it best to do them while the headlights are out of the car?

@Trups - looking good mate.
